To achieve long-term business objectives and goals, it is the responsibility of Marketing Directors to organize, develop, and incorporate effective marketing strategies. They are also in charge of supervising team members and establishing marketing goals.
When hiring for this position, search for applicants who have an extensive expertise in the management of marketing and advertising campaigns from start to finish. They should also be knowledgeable on a variety of strategies, such as sponsored advertising, creating advertising campaigns and conducting promotional events. You could also evaluate the candidates’ experience on working with different digital tools (e.g. Google Analytics and CRM software) during the interview by asking them specific questions from the ones specified below.

- In order to participate in a significant conference, the CEO requests that your team prepare a booth and advertising promotional materials. If the conference was happening in only one week, how would you prioritize your tasks?
Role-specific questions:
- Which firms do you consider to be our main competitors? What is the reason for your answer?
- Who is our target audience, and how would you approach them to increase the client base we have?
- Which marketing software (e.g. CRM) have you previously utilized?
- What are the best SEO techniques for optimizing online content?
- What are some of the indicators you monitor on a regular basis? How and when do you communicate the outcomes of your activities to your team?

Behavioural questions:
- Please provide an example of a Google AdWords campaign on which you previosuly worked. What did you strive to improve, and what was the outcome?
- Have you ever been a part of a failed marketing campaign? If that’s the case, what went wrong and what did you learn not to repeat in future campaigns?
- What are your strategies for resolving team conflicts?
- Describe a moment when you worked on a project with multiple teams. How did you organize your tasks and prioritize them? What exactly did you do to make sure everyone completed their tasks on-time?
- How do you keep yourself updated in regards to new marketing platforms and strategies?
