Project management responsibilities encompass ensuring the timely delivery of projects within budget and defined scope. Project managers play a crucial role in orchestrating both internal resources and third-party vendors to execute projects flawlessly.
By this stage of the hiring process, you should have assessed candidates for essential hard skills, including hands-on software engineering expertise, familiarity with project management software, and a preferred methodology (such as Agile or Waterfall). During interviews, the focus shifts to evaluating their soft skills and situational judgment. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are paramount for this role. The project manager will be the primary point of contact for your team, project-related vendors, and all stakeholders, ensuring that projects are completed within the specified time and budget. They will also be responsible for collecting and presenting project results.
