Every organization has unique time-off policies. Hirebee lets you create unlimited leave types \u2014 annual leave, sick leave, personal days, bereavement, jury duty, sabbatical, parental leave, volunteer days, and any custom category your organization needs. Each leave type has its own configuration: accrual rate, maximum balance, carryover rules, minimum notice period, and whether it's paid or unpaid. Define policies once and they enforce automatically across the organization, eliminating manual tracking and inconsistent policy application.

Accrual Rules, Carryover Limits, and Probation Restrictions

Configure sophisticated accrual schedules that match your company's policies. Set monthly, quarterly, or annual accrual rates. Define carryover limits \u2014 allow employees to carry forward up to 5 unused days, or implement use-it-or-lose-it policies with automatic balance resets. Restrict leave access during probation periods: new hires might accrue leave from day one but can't use it until after 90 days. Tenure-based increases reward loyalty automatically \u2014 employees get additional days after their 1st, 3rd, and 5th anniversary without HR intervention.

Approval Chains and Delegation Rules

Different leave types may require different approval flows. A single sick day might need only direct manager approval, while a 3-week vacation requires both manager and HR sign-off. Hirebee's custom policies let you define approval chains per leave type, per duration threshold, or per department. Configure backup approvers for when managers are on leave themselves, set auto-approval rules for requests under a certain duration, and define escalation timelines for pending approvals. Every rule is configurable through the admin interface \u2014 no developer required.

Policy Compliance Reporting and Audit Trail

Demonstrate policy compliance with comprehensive reporting. Track which employees have exceeded their leave allowance, who has unused balances approaching carryover limits, and whether approval chains are being followed consistently. Every policy configuration change is logged with timestamps and the admin who made the change, creating a complete audit trail for labor law compliance, internal audits, and HR reviews.
