Utilize these interview questions to identify the most suitable Flight Attendant for your airline. Although the entry requirements for this position are relatively low (only a high school diploma/GED is typically required), the competition is fierce. With a large pool of applicants, the interview phase plays a crucial role in assessing the soft skills that serve as indicators of future success in the role.

The essential soft skills to look for encompass empathy, the capacity to excel under pressure, and exceptional communication and customer service abilities. It’s important to seek individuals who consider themselves “people persons,” genuinely enjoy engaging with others, and possess a strong desire to assist. Candidates with prior customer service experience are particularly desirable.

Most of the questions provided are situational in nature. They are open-ended and designed to aid in evaluating candidates’ thought processes and their judgment in various scenarios. During the interviews, pay close attention to how candidates tackle problems, handle challenging individuals diplomatically, and collaborate effectively within a team. Interviewers may also consider incorporating role-play questions, with the interviewer taking on the role of a passenger or teammate.

  • What approach would you take when dealing with a coworker who is not carrying their fair share of the workload?
  • You’ve observed a coworker disregarding safety standards. How would you handle this situation?
  • Could you describe a time when your colleagues recognized your outstanding performance?
  • Share an experience when you encountered a crisis while at work. What was the nature of the crisis, and what was the ultimate outcome?
  • If you were a passenger on a twenty-hour flight, who would you choose to sit next to and why?
  • Could you recount a time when you successfully resolved a situation involving an angry passenger?
  • How would you communicate with an economy class passenger attempting to use the first-class bathroom?
  • Imagine a scenario where a passenger is speaking to you, but you’re unable to understand their language. How would you respond?
  • A passenger’s child is on the floor during takeoff, and the “fasten seatbelt” sign is illuminated. How would you address this situation?
  • How would you handle a situation involving a passenger displaying rudeness or engaging in abusive behavior towards another passenger?
